Loan details confirmed as Clement Lenglet officially joins Tottenham
Premier League outfit Tottenham Hotspur have, on Friday, unveiled the latest addition to the club’s first-team squad.
The player to have taken his talents to the Lilywhite half of north London? Clement Lenglet.
Recent weeks, of course, saw speculation rampant in the media that Barcelona stopper Lenglet had been identified as a priority target on the part of Antonio Conte and co.
This comes with Spurs on the lookout for reinforcements on the left of the club’s central defensive ranks, to provide competition for, and potentially replace Ben Davies.
In turn, it has come as little surprise late this evening to hear of Lenglet’s Premier League switch being made official.
As per a statement across the club’s website and social media platforms, the French stopper has linked up with Conte’s troops on a season-long loan deal, through the summer of 2023:
‘We are delighted to announce the signing of Clément Lenglet on a season-long loan from Barcelona, subject to international clearance and a work permit.’
The latest addition to the club’s backline, of course, continues what has proven an altogether fruitful opening to the transfer window on the part of the powers that be at Tottenham.
Alongside Lenglet, the capital outfit, evidently keen to kick on from their 4th-placed Premier League finish last time out, have struck deals for all of Ivan Perisic, Fraser Forster, Yves Bissouma and Richarlison.
