Barcelona player ratings vs Athletic Club: The Catalan outfit moved within one point of Real Madrid in La Liga points table after a narrow 1-0 win over Athletic Bilbao.

Barcelona took on Athletic Bilbao in La Liga in their first game after the October international break. A goal from substitute and debutant Marc Guiu sealed all three points for Barcelona.

The win takes Barcelona’s tally to 24 points from 10 matches in La Liga so far this season. They are now just one point behind table-toppers Real Madrid, who dropped points against Sevilla after a 1-1 aw.

Marc-Andre ter Stegen – 7 – Made a number of saves and kept another clean sheet as Barcelona earned all three points from the fixture.

Joao Cancelo – 7 – Another impressive performance from the Portuguese international, who arrived at Barcelona in the summer on a season-long loan deal from Manchester City.

Inigo Martinez – 6 – A decent performance from the 32-year-old centre-back. Featured throughout the game.

Alejandro Balde – 6 – The 20-year-old left-back recovered from an injury and made it to the starting XI against Athletic Bilbao. Replaced by Marcos Alonso in the 79th minute.

Ronald Araujo – 6 – Didn’t make it to the starting XI but came off the bench on the hour mark. A routine performance.

Marc Guiu – 10 – Instant impact on his Barcelona senior team debut. Scored the winner just seconds after coming off the bench.
