Bayern Munich seal big-money deal for Juventus’ Matthijs de Ligt

German heavyweights Bayern Munich have, on Sunday, struck an agreement with their counterparts at Juventus, over the signature of Matthijs de Ligt.

Recent weeks, of course, have seen Dutch international De Ligt hotly tipped to take his talents to Bavaria.

Having evidently come to the conclusion that the heart of the club’s backline is in urgent need of reinforcement on the back of the departure of Niklas Sule, Juve’s defensive stalwart has been identified as a priority target on the part of the powers that be at Bayern.

Not only that, but De Ligt himself is long understood to have made clear his intention to seal a move to the Allianz Arena this summer.

In turn, on Sunday evening, it should not come as a major surprise to hear of a deal being struck.

As confirmed by a host of reliable sources, including Juventus transfer expert Romeo Agresti, the Bianconeri have agreed to part ways with their star stopper.

This comes after an offer in the region of the club’s hefty asking price was forthcoming.

As per Agresti, Bayern are set to fork over a fee in excess of €80 million, including bonuses.

The Bundesliga champions’ decisive bid for De Ligt, of course, comes fresh off a major cash injection at the Allianz Arena this weekend, courtesy of Robert Lewandowski’s move to Barcelona.
