Manchester City News: PSG Bid for Bernardo Silva Rejected
Manchester City news: The defending Premier League champions have turned down a bid from Paris Saint-Germain for Bernardo Silva.
Man City does not want to part ways with Silva, particularly at this stage in the transfer window. Man City CEO Ferran Soriano has also confirmed they are unlikely to sell Silva, stating it is late to negotiate a sale.
Man City are also standing firm on their valuation of Silva, with the club valuing him at around €100m at the start of the summer.
Meanwhile, Barcelona is also interested in Silva. However, they are unlikely to match what PSG have offered, let alone match City’s valuation of the player.
Silva has been playing for Man City since joining the Premier League side from AS Monaco in 2017. He has since featured prominently for Man City.
Silva has so far made 255 appearances for Man City and has scored 49 goals for the Premier League side. He featured in 50 matches and scored 13 goals for Man City last season as they won the Premier League title. 35 of those matches were in the Premier League.
Silva has also won the Premier League with Man City four times since joining the club. Silva and Man City have missed out on the PL title only once since he joined the club – in the 2019/20 season when Liverpool won.
Meanwhile, Man City have played three games in the Premier League so far this season. They have seven points from their first three fixtures, winning two and drawing one.
Silva featured in all three games for Man City. He came off the bench in their first two games and started in the third one. Silva scored a goal and provided an assist in Man City’s third game of the league season as they drew Newcastle 3-3.
Meanwhile, Man City host Crystal Palace at Etihad Stadium in their next game on August 27. The match kicks off at 7:30 pm Indian Standard Time.
