Chelsea News: Chelsea Has Appointed Graham Potter as New Manager, Which Costs Blues Over €22 Million

Potter took charge of The Seagulls in 2019 and has achieved some remarkable feats. He was the first Brighton manager to get an away win at Old Trafford. He defeated the Red Devils with a 2-1 win.

Graham’s first season in charge was a major success for the club. Brighton club recorded their highest points and goals in the Premier League by collecting 41 points and scoring 39 goals and finished in the 15th position.

In his second season at Brighton, they finished with the same 41 points. The club Brighton scored a total of 40 goals, which was a new record for them.

Last season, Brighton finished in ninth place which was their highest Premier League finish. They ended their season with 51 points.

Graham Potter’s project of Brighton was very fascinating, as he created a balanced team with a mixture of both young and experienced players. They developed some bright talents like Marc Cucurella, Yves Bissouma, Ben White, Dan Burn, and Neal Maupay and sold them with a huge price tag.

Graham Potter was always praised by the pundits, as he put more focus on developing players on a long-term basis.

Potter’s “progressive” and “unconventional” coaching methods have always been recognised, as he describes his teams as “tactically flexible, attacking, [and] possession-based”.

Graham Potter has officially said on his managerial take over: “I am very excited to partner with Chelsea’s new ownership group and look forward to meeting and working with the exciting group of players and to develop a team and culture that our amazing fans can be proud of.”

The Premier League giant was looking for a long-term appointment to move the club forward. They want to develop their young talents like Broja, Gallagher, Gabriel Slonina, Carney Chukwuemeka, and Wesley Fofana. It looks like Graham Potter is the perfect man in developing such potential players. But the owners of Chelsea need to be patient with such long-term projects.
