Now with Matchday 2 of UCL upcoming, let’s look at a few games on Tuesday night football that one should not miss at any cost.
One of the biggest games of this weekend’s UCL football is Bayern München taking on Barcelona. Bayern and Barca have a bitter history in this competition. It started in the 2013 season when Bayern outplayed Catalans 7-0 on aggregate in the semi-finals and went on to win the competition. Then in 2015 and 2016 Barcelona got the better of Bayern and was dumped out of UCL. Then again in 2020 in Lisbon Barcelona suffered their biggest defeat in UCL history at the hands of Bayern.
Last season, these 2 teams met in the group stage, Bayern came out on top, and Barcelona for the first in their history ended up dropping down to Europa League. But this season things are a bit different. Barca has signed Bayern main man Robert Lewandowski and the Polish International has started the UCL campaign with a bang.
Barcelona is coming into this all-important clash on the back of a brilliant run. The Catalans are undefeated in their season and scoring goals for fun. Apart from their season opener Barca has scored 3+ goals in all their matches. Barcelona will come into this game confidently and with points to prove.
Meanwhile, Bayern München is going through a difficult patch in their season. They have drawn 3 straight Bundesliga games on the trot. Bayern for the first time isn’t leading the Bundesliga table. Bayern has dropped points at times.
With Lewandowski returning to Allianz Arena so early in his Barcelona colors it’s going to be a special night in München. Barcelona coming up against Bayern Munich always guarantees you excitement and drama, especially if it’s a big UCL night.
Another mouth-watering fixture on Tuesday night UCL football will be at Anfield. Liverpool after their embarrassing defeat in Naples will be up against Ajax. With the PL game week getting postponed due to the sad demise of U majesty Queen in the UK, Liverpool players will have had full weeks’ rest to recover from their defeat.
Liverpool will come out at Anfield with full determination to put out a thumping statement. Though Liverpool is struggling with injuries Jurgen Klopp will put out a strong team and would hope his main man Moh. Salah has a special night at Anfield in UC.
Coming into Ajax they are coming into this game with a perfect record. Ajax has won all 7 out of 7 games so far across competitions. In the Dutch league, they are an undefeated team scoring 18 goals. UCL too has started with a bang by defeating the Scottish team Rangers on matchday 1.
With Liverpool facing Ajax at Anfield, we are up for a dramatic night and fans will have the treat to watch if this turns out to be another UCL classic.
The third game to look out for on Tuesday night will be Atletico Madrid traveling to Germany to face Bayer Leverkusen. With Atletico Madrid just managing to beat Porto in their last game. Both Atletico and Bayer Leverkusen are evenly matched and this game in Germany will be highly entertaining.
Coming into the team Atletico Madrid has had a tricky start to their season. But now as the season is progressing they are picking up. Atletico Madrid is winning games in dying moments thanks to one player Antoine Griezmann.
Bayer Leverkusen has had a horror start to their season. They are in the relegation zone in the Bundesliga. They have just one win from 6 games. They are struggling but if they have any chance to get their campaign back on track then what better way to do it than on UCL night?
