Liverpool News: Joao Gomes Opens up on the Reds’ Interest

Gomes has established himself as among the most promising midfielders in Brazil since breaking into the Vultures senior team in 2020. He has played 37 league games for the Brazillian club so far, scoring one goal.

He has helped his club win one league title, along with two Campeonato Cariocas. The 21-year-old midfielder is seen as the future of Brazillian football.

Brazilian wonder kid Joao Gomes opens up on the possibility of joining Liverpool in the future.

Klopp tried to address the issue by signing Arthur Melo on loan from Juventus during deadline day. However, the Brazil international is yet to start a competitive game for the Reds. Klopp could look to bring in another midfielder to his squad during the January window, with Pedro among the options.

But the Brazilian has recently signed a new contract at Flamengo, which will keep him at the club until 2027. The Reds will need to pay a massive transfer fee in order to bring him to Anfield.

Pedro is a tenacious footballer who is capable of playing as a central or defensive midfielder. His key strengths are his tackling and passing skills, along with his ability to play defense-splitting through balls.

Liverpool is currently eighth in the Premier League table, with nine points from six games. They will next lock horns against Brighton in the league before facing Rangers in the UEFA Champions League on October 5.
