Mikel Arteta Reacts to Aubameyang Warning Ahead of Chelsea vs Arsenal Clash
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has reacted to Chelsea attacker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s statement ahead of the match between the two sides in the Premier League.
Chelsea host Arsenal at Stamford Bridge this Sunday, and should Aubameyang get minutes against the Gunners, he will face the north London outfit for the first time since leaving the club earlier this year.
Aubameyang left Arsenal in February this year after he and the Gunners terminated his contract by mutual consent. It was a bitter end to his Arsenal career as he was stripped of the captaincy and had a fallout with Arteta.
Aubameyang joined Barcelona on a free transfer in February 2022. However, after just seven months at the Catalan outfit, the Gabonese striker returned to the Premier League. Chelsea landed Aubameyang in the 2022 summer transfer window.
Arteta also admitted Aubameyang could be very dangerous against Arsenal this weekend. “Very dangerous,” the Arsenal manager said.
“If Auba has something, it’s the ability to put the ball in the back of the net and he’s going to be doing that until the day that he decides he’s had enough of football.”
Arsenal will be aiming to secure a win over Chelsea and maintain their status as the Premier League leaders when they face the west London outfit.
Arsenal currently sit first in the Premier League points table with 31 points from 12 matches. They have 10 wins, a draw and a defeat in the Premier League so far this season.
The Gunners have a two-point leader over Manchester City, who are second with 29 points. Chelsea, meanwhile, languish at sixth in the points table. The Blues have 21 points from 12 matches. They are 10 points behind Arsenal.
The match between Chelsea and Arsenal kicks off at 5:30 pm Indian Standard Time, on Sunday.
