Marco Verratti To Extend His Paris Saint-Germain Contract

The Italian journalist reports that the new deal is expected to be completed soon and that the Verratti only wanted to extend his stay at Paris Saint-Germain.

Marco Verratti will sign a new contract with PSG, as expected. He’s gonna stay for the next four years and he only wanted Paris Saint-Germain,” Fabrizio Romano wrote on Twitter. “New deal expected to be completed very soon.

Marco Verratti has been playing for PSG for more than a decade now, having signed for the Ligue 1 outfit in 2012. He has since featured in 398 games for Paris Saint-Germain.

Marco Verratti last renewed his contract with PSG back in 2019. He signed a deal that extended his stay at the club until 2024. He now has less than two years left on his current contract with the French behemoths.

A new deal would extend his stay at PSG beyond the expiry of the current contract. If he signs a four-year contract extension with Paris Saint-Germain, that would keep him at the club until 2026.

Marco Verratti has over the years established himself as one of the best midfielders in the world. The 30-year-old Italian midfielder has featured regularly for Paris Saint-Germain in the 22/23 season.

Of those 20 appearances, 14 came in the Ligue 1, where PSG have played 15 matches so far in the 22/23 season. Marco Verratti has also made five appearances for PSG in the Champions League, where they have qualified for the round of 16 after a second-place finish in Group H.

The Italy international also featured for Paris Saint-Germain in their Trophee des Champions title win at the start of the 22/23 season.
