Casemiro Lavishes Praise on Man Utd Teammate Marcus Rashford
Manchester United midfielder Casemiro has lavished praise on his teammate Marcus Rashford. The Brazilian midfielder was really surprised by the wingers’ talent.
Marcus Rashford, too, has been impressive for the Red Devils in the ongoing 22/23 season. The England international, who endured a rather underwhelming and disappointing 21/22 season, has already scored more goals this season than he managed during the entirety of the previous season.
The 25-year-old had scored five goals in the 21/22 season, but he already has 11 goals to his name for Manchester United in the 22/23 season.
“I’m gonna be very honest with you. I was really surprised by the player Rashford is. In my opinion, especially knowing the player off the pitch, I can tell you that if he’s doing well, he can be one of the top five players in the world,” Casemiro told ESPN Brasil after Manchester United secured a 1-0 win over Wolves.
“He has an incredible way of hitting the ball, he’s got strength, he’s quick, is very clever playing. He was one of the players that really surprised me. Of course, when you play in a different league you already know the player, but when you’re in the same club every day.”
Meanwhile, it was Marcus Rashford who scored the winner as Manchester United picked up another three points by defeating the Wolves. Man Utd manager Erik ten Hag had dropped Marcus Rashford from the starting XI against Wolves for disciplinary reasons.
But the England international came off the bench in the second half to score the only goal of the game. He even saw another goal ruled out by VAR after it found he had handled the ball inside the box.
Speaking after the match, Marcus Rashford also explained why Erik ten Hag dropped him, revealing he was late to a team meeting after he ‘overslept’.
