Joao Felix Sets Unwanted Record on His Chelsea Debut
Joao Felix became the first Chelsea player to be sent off on their Premier League debut for the Stamford Bridge outfit after he received a red card in the Blues’ 2-1 defeat to Fulham in the English top-flight.
Felix received a red card for a dangerous tackle on Kenny Tete, which means Chelsea played the remainder of the game with 10 men.
Meanwhile, Chelsea slumped to a 2-1 defeat to Fulham in the game, with the latter scoring the winner after the former were reduced to 10 men.
Against Chelsea, Fulham took the lead in the 25th minute of the match with Willian scoring the goal against his former team. Chelsea, however, found the equalizer in the 47th minute as Kalidou Koulibaly bundled the ball in from close range.
However, Chelsea were dealt a heavy blow 11 minutes later when the referee brandished a red card to Joao Felix for his tackle on Kenny Tete.
Fulham then took the lead again in the 73rd minute of the match. Carlos Vinicius scored Fulham’s second goal of the match and it proved to be the game-winner.
The defeat to Fulham sees Chelsea continue to sit 10th in the Premier League points table with 25 points from 18 matches. The Blues already trail table-toppers Arsenal by 19 points and the Gunners have a game in hand over the Stamford Bridge outfit.
