Jurgen Klopp Reacts After Liverpool’s 3-0 Defeat to Brighton
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp admitted he is concerned about the situation the Merseyside outfit finds themselves in after their humiliating defeat to Brighton & Hove Albion in a Premier League fixture on Saturday.
After a goalless first half, Brighton opened the scoring just two minutes after the game restarted following the interval break. Solly March sent Brighton 1-0 up in the 47th minute and he himself doubled their lead in the 53rd minute.
Danny Welbeck sealed Brighton’s win over Liverpool in the 81st minute of the game, bagging his first and his team’s third goal of the match.
Speaking after the match, Jurgen Klopp admitted he is concerned about the situation Liverpool find themselves in. The Liverpool manager also could not think of a worse game in his career.
Jurgen Klopp also admitted that Brighton were better than Liverpool and that the Seagulls’ win was ‘well deserved’.
“Bad. Really bad. I can’t remember a worse game. A really tough day. It’s not difficult maybe. Brighton were the better team, it was well deserved. They played really well. It was a very organised team against a not very organised team. We gave the ball away, the spaces were too big and we couldn’t push up.”
Jurgen Klopp added: “That is obviously not good, especially against a super well-drilled side like Brighton. They got more confident and we did the opposite. I can imagine they are very happy because it was a great performance and we made it too easy in too many moments.”
Meanwhile, Liverpool dropped to ninth in the Premier League points table with the defeat to Brighton. The Merseyside outfit have 28 points from 18 games in the Premier League so far this season.
Brighton, on the other hand, moved up to seventh in the points table with 30 points from 18 games.
