Robert Lewandowski Reveals What He Told Gavi Ahead of Spanish Super Cup Win
FC Barcelona striker Robert Lewandowski has revealed what he told his club teammate Gavi ahead of their 3-1 win over Real Madrid in the Spanish Super Cup final.
Gavi opened the scoring for Barcelona in the Super Cup final against Real Madrid as the Spanish midfielder put the ball in the back of the net in the 33rd minute of the match. Robert Lewandowski assisted the goal.
Barcelona then scored their second goal of the match on the stroke of half-time as Robert Lewandowski and Gavi once again combined. This time Robert Lewandowski scored the goal while Gavi provided the assist.
Barcelona would go on to score their third goal of the match in the 69th minute. Gavi was again involved as he provided the final pass before his compatriot Pedri scored. Real Madrid pulled one back in the 90+3rd minute as Karim Benzema scored a consolatory goal.
Speaking after the match, Robert Lewandowski revealed what he told Gavi ahead of the game. The Polish striker revealed that he had told Gavi they could do dangerous if they were close.
Meanwhile, Barcelona’s Spanish Super Cup title win was also Xavi’s first title win since he became the manager of the Catalan outfit.
Speaking after the match, Xavi said Barcelona players have set themselves free from the unfair criticism they get for their performance in the win over Real Madrid.
Meanwhile, Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti also conceded that Barcelona were the better team in the Spanish Super Cup final, but rubbished suggestions his side were humiliated.
In their next match, Barcelona will take on AD Ceuta FC in the Copa del Rey round-of-16. The match between Barcelona and AD Ceuta FC kicks off at 12:30 am Indian Standard Time on January 20.
