Rodrygo Hoping to Become Available For Selection For Real Madrid vs Real Sociedad
Rodrygo is hoping to become available for selection when Real Madrid face Real Sociedad in a La Liga fixture in their next game.
The Brazilian attacker came off the bench in Real Madrid’s comeback win over Atletico Madrid in the Copa del Rey quarter final, but was also substituted before the game ended.
The 22-year-old would then go on to score a sensational solo goal in the 79th minute of the match to restore parity and take the game to extra time. However, Rodrygo was subbed off in the 115th minute of the match.
Speaking after the match, Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti explained his decision to sub Rodrygo.
The report also adds that Rodrygo is expected to take part in Real Madrid training on Friday after being assessed by his personal trainer.
Should he become available for the fixture against Real Sociedad, it would be a big boost for Real Madrid, who have several other injuries concerns. Aurelien Tchouameni and David Alaba are in doubt about the match against Real Sociedad.
The Athletic also reported that Lucas Vazquez, Ferland Mendy, and Dani Carvajal will miss Real Madrid’s La Liga match against Real Sociedad.
Meanwhile, Real Madrid will be aiming to maintain pressure on table-toppers Barcelona with a win over Real Sociedad.
Barcelona sits atop the La Liga points table ahead of defending league champions Real Madrid. The Catalan outfit have 44 points from 17 matches and enjoys a three-point lead over second-placed Real Madrid.
Real Madrid, who are aiming to defend the league title, have 41 points from 17 matches in the Spanish top-flight so far this season.
