Thomas Partey Set For MRI Scan Amid Injury Concerns

Thomas Partey is set for an MRI scan after he was withdrawn with injury concerns at half-time of the Arsenal vs Manchester City clash in the FA Cup.

Should the MRI scan reveal any injury problem for Thomas Partey that would see the midfielder miss games, it would be a huge blow for Arsenal in their pursuit of the Premier League title.

Thomas Partey has been a key player for Mikel Arteta in the current campaign. He has featured in – and started in – 16 games of the 19 games Arsenal have played in the Premier League so far this season. He missed the three matches that he did not feature in because of thigh problems.

Meanwhile, Arsenal are also looking to reinforce its midfield department in the January transfer window. The Gunners tabled a £60m bid for Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder Moises Caicedo earlier this week.

However, Brighton turned down Arsenal’s bid for the highly-rated Ecuador midfielder, who has also attracted transfer interest from Chelsea.

Arsenal will face Everton in an away fixture in the Premier League in their next match. The game between Arsenal and Everton kicks off at 6:00 pm Indian Standard Time on February 4.
