Javier Tebas Says Real Madrid the Only Spanish Club That Will Be Able to Sign Kylian Mbappe and Erling Haaland
La Liga president Javier Tebas has claimed that Real Madrid are the only side that will be able to sign Erling Haaland and Kylian Mbappe if they ever came to Spain.
Erling Haaland and Kylian Mbappe are two of the world’s best footballers. Erling Haaland currently plays for Manchester City, who he signed for in the summer of 2022. The Norwegian international instantly hit the ground running at his new club and has been sensational for Manchester City.
Erling Haaland has also been linked with a move to Real Madrid, though not as heavily linked as Mbappe was. Although Erling Haaland has a contract until 2027 with Manchester City, his release clause at the English outfit becomes active in 2024.
That means Real Madrid could if they are interested in signing Erling Haaland, look to land the highly-rated Norwegian in 2024.
The words of the La Liga president seemingly suggest Barcelona will not be able to land either Mbappe or Haaland given the club’s financial situation.
Meanwhile, Haaland has a €200million release clause in his contract that becomes active in 2024. It remains to be seen if Real Madrid will be ready to splurge such a staggering fee to sign the 22-year-old.
Kylian Mbappe, meanwhile, has been linked with a move away from Paris Saint-Germain, but Real Madrid have not made any attempts to sign him after he snubbed them in the summer.
