Hakim Ziyech Given Permission to Explore Move Away From Chelsea
Hakim Ziyech has been given permission by Chelsea to explore an immediate move away from the Stamford Bridge outfit after his proposed transfer to Paris Saint-Germain collapsed on the deadline day of the 2023 January transfer window.
The Moroccan attacker, who has struggled for game time at Chelsea and has fallen down the pecking order at the west London outfit, was set to join Paris Saint-Germain before the January transfer window closed.
Although the transfer window in most of Europe’s major leagues have already closed, Hakim Ziyech has been given permission to meet with clubs who would be interested in signing him on a loan until the end of the season.
The Morocco international has already received interest from both Turkey and the United States of America. Transfer windows in both Turkey and the United States of America are still open.
However, it is unclear at this stage whether Hakim Ziyech would be interested in making a move to either of the two aforementioned countries.
Meanwhile, Chelsea manager Graham Potter has insisted Hakim Ziyech will be an important player for the Blues for the remainder of the 22/23 season.
“He’s back in the country and he trained this morning,” Graham Potter said. “These stories won’t be the first or last, but he is a professional player and understands the situation.
“He is committed to us and is available for the squad for the game [against Fulham]. He’ll be an important player for us for the rest of the season.“
Hakim Ziyech, who has a contract until 2025 with Chelsea, has featured in 15 matches across all competitions for the Premier League side so far this season. However, he has started in only six of those matches, with the rest appearances off the bench.
