Mikel Arteta is a Fan of Marco Asensio as His Agents Fly Out to London For Talks
Marco Asensio’s agents would fly out to London this week to hold talks with Premier League clubs over a possible move for their client, with Arsenal among the clubs they are planning to approach, according to a report in The Mirror.
He is already free to talk with clubs outside of Spain and even sign a pre-contract agreement over a summer move. A number of Premier League clubs have been linked with a move for the Spanish international.
Real Madrid, meanwhile, have not yet made a decision on whether to extend Marco Asensio’s contract with the club or not. The Mirror reports that the defending La Liga champions will wait until March or April to come to a decision over whether to table a contract renewal offer to the Spanish attacker.
The Mirror also reports that Marco Asensio is looking for a four-year contract offer that would see him pocket a higher wage than he currently does. He is currently reported to be on £118,000 per week.
Meanwhile, Marco Asensio has featured in 26 games across all competitions for Real Madrid so far this season. 15 of those have come in La Liga, where Real Madrid have made 20 appearances so far this season. However, only five of those were as a starter, with the other 10 being appearances off the bench.
It has to also be noted that he has been featuring relatively regularly for Los Blancos in recent weeks.
It remains to be where Marco Asensio will be plying his trade come next season. Will he extend his stay at Real Madrid or will he join another club? Only time will tell.
