Toni Kroos Backs Vinicius Jr to Lead Real Madrid’s Attack For Many Years

Real Madrid midfielder Toni Kroos has lavished praise on teammate Vinicius Jr as he backed the Brazilian international to lead Los Blancos’ attack for many years.

Vinicius Jr has already established himself as a key player for Real Madrid, and the Brazilian attacker has been impressive for the Spanish behemoths in the ongoing 22/23 campaign.

Vinicius Jr is only 22 years old, but he has already become one of the best attackers in the world. He still has plenty of years left at the top, and Toni Kroos believes the Brazilian could become an even better player than he already is.

It was Vinicius Jr who sparked Real Madrid’s comeback in their 5-2 thrashing of Liverpool at Anfield in the Champions League round of 16 first leg earlier this week.

Goals from Darwin Nunez and Mohamed Salah within the first 15 minutes saw Real Madrid trail the game by two goals. However, Vinicius Jr scored two goals before halftime to restore parity for Real Madrid.

His first goal of the match came in the 21st minute, and it was a stunner. Toni Kroos said Vinicius Jr’s first goal against Liverpool in the Champions League round of 16 gave ‘life to the whole team’ of Real Madrid.

When we were 2-0 down and were suffering, his first goal meant a lot,” Toni Kroos said. “He did it all himself, within a limited space, he was against two or three players and then he took that shot.

That [goal] gave us life to the whole team. It was an individual play which means that he can do that and, depending on how he is, in the future, he is going to be among the best players in the world.

Vinicius Jr has featured in 35 games across all competitions for Real Madrid so far in the 22/23 campaign. He has amassed 18 goals and nine assists in those fixtures for the Spanish behemoths.
