Marcus Rashford Travel With Manchester United Squad For EFL Cup Final

Marcus Rashford has travelled with the Manchester United squad to London for their EFL Cup final match against Newcastle United.

Manchester United will square off with Newcastle United at Wembley in the final of the EFL Cup as the Red Devils aim to end their six-year trophy drought.

Manchester United heads into the game against Newcastle United on the back of their 2-1 win over Barcelona at Old Trafford in the Europa League knockout play-off second-leg. That win over the Catalan outfit secured Manchester United their place in the round of 16 of Europa League.

Manchester Evening News report that Marcus Rashford has travelled with the Red Devils squad to London for their clash with Newcastle United. He has been named in their squad for the EFL Cup final.

Erik ten Hag was unsure of Marcus Rashford’s availability for EFL Cup final when asked on Friday. The Manchester United manager said he could not confirm his availability until 100 per cent diagnosis is done.

I don’t know. Players are now coming in,” Erik ten Hag said on Friday. “We have to do investigations, medical, of course, yesterday we did. So straight after a game most of the time you can’t say, you have to wait for a 100 per cent diagnosis. So let’s do the medical, the work, we have to wait.

Although Marcus Rashford drew a blank in Manchester United’s 2-1 win over Barcelona, he has been impressive for the Red Devils in the current campaign. He is their top goalscorer this season.

Meanwhile, the EFL Cup final match between Manchester United and Newcastle United kicks off at 10:00 pm Indian Standard Time on Sunday, February 26.
