10 Most Valuable La Liga Players Whose Contract Ends in 2023

A number of players who ply their trade in La Liga are due to be of out contract in the summer. With the January transfer window now over, the aforementioned players will either leave their current club on a free transfer or renew their contract to extend their stay.

Real Madrid, however, could be without a number of their key players come to the start of the next season. Carlo Ancelotti’s side have a number of players due to be out of contract at the end of June 2023, and that includes some of their most important players.

Karim Benzema (€35m) – The Real Madrid attacker’s current contract with Real Madrid will expire at the end of June 2023. The Frenchman remains one of their best players and he could extend his stay at the Spanish outfit beyond the end of the season.

Marco Asensio (€25m) – The Spanish attacker is not a regular starter at Real Madrid and could leave the club in the summer and he has been linked with a number of clubs.

Toni Kroos (€20m)- The third Real Madrid player on the list, Toni Kroos is also out of contract in the summer. Toni Kroos has previously said he wants to retire at Real Madrid and it remains to be seen if he will extend his stay with the club beyond the upcoming summer.

Iñigo Martínez (€18m)- The 31-year-old has only made 10 appearances for Athletic Club this season, but would have probably featured in more games had he not had spells on the sidelines due to injuries.

Matt Doherty (€12m) – Matt Doherty joined Atletico Madrid earlier this year after agreeing on a mutual termination of his Tottenham Hotspur contract. He has not yet featured for Atletico Madrid this season and is due to be a free agent in the summer.

David Soria (€10m) – The 29-year-old Getafe goalkeeper has appeared in 23 games for the Spanish side so far in the current campaign. 22 of those appearances have come in La Liga.

Luka Modric (€10m) – The Croatian midfielder is also a key player for Real Madrid. The veteran midfielder has expressed his desire to stay at Real Madrid beyond the expiry of his current contract. It remains to be seen if Real Madrid will table him a contract extension offer.

Dani Ceballos (€9m) – Although he had struggled for game time at the start of the season, Dani Ceballos has had relatively more playing time recently. He has also been impressive for Real Madrid in recent games.

Alejandro Catena (€8m) – The 28-year-old Rayo Vallecano defender who has featured regularly for them is also out of contract in the summer.

Aleix Garcia (€7m) – The Girona midfielder has featured in 25 games across all competitions for the Spanish side so far this season.
