Nasser Al-Khelaifi Expresses Support For PSG Manager Christophe Galtier

Paris Saint-Germain president Nasser Al-Khelaifi has expressed his support to the club manager Christophe Galtier after they defeated Marseille in their most recent fixture.

PSG have been far from their best ever since club football action resumed after the end of FIFA World Cup 2022. But the French heavyweights delivered a good performance to defeat second-placed Marseille in the Ligue 1 in their most recent match.

The win also sees Paris Saint-Germain get revenge of sorts on Marseille, who knocked them out of the French Cup earlier this season.

Paris Saint-Germain president Nasser Al-Khelaifi said: “I always trust my coach because I know what he can give. It was complicated after the World Cup for everyone. And especially for us because we had a lot of players involved in this competition. But that’s no excuse. Now we have found our position.

Nasser Al-Khelaifi’s words come amid reports that PSG had grown frustrated with Christophe Galtier.

Meanwhile, the victory over Marseille sees Paris Saint-Germain extend their lead at the top of the Ligue 1 points table. Paris Saint-Germain now have an eight-point lead over second-placed Marseille in Ligue 1.

PSG have 60 points from 25 matches in the French top flight so far in the current campaign. Marseille, meanwhile, have 52 points from 25 matches.

Paris Saint-Germain will face Nantes in the Ligue 1 in their next match. PSG will be aiming to earn all three points from the fixture and maintain their lead at the top of the Ligue 1 points table. A win over Nantes would also see PSG head into their Champions League clash with Bayern Munich on the back of three consecutive wins.

Bayern Munich inflicted a 1-0 defeat on Paris Saint-Germain in the first leg of the Champions League round of 16 tie. PSG will have to turn the tie around in the second leg or will be knocked out of the competition.

The second leg of the Bayern Munich vs Paris Saint-Germain Champions League round of 16 tie kicks off at 1:30 am Indian Standard Time on March 9.
