Manchester United manager Erik Ten Hag hailed Bruno Fernandes as ‘the best player on the pitch’ in their defeat of Everton in the Premier League.
Erik ten Hag deployed Bruno Fernandes as a deep midfielder against Everton, and the Portuguese international excelled in the role. He was impressive for Manchester United as they got the better of Everton.
For his performance against Everton, Bruno Fernandes also won the Man of the Match award. Speaking after Manchester United’s win over Everton, Erik Ten Hag was all praise for the Portuguese attacker.
Erik ten Hag said Bruno Fernandes was brilliant in a deeper role and that the Portuguese attacker was the best player on the pitch in the Manchester United vs Everton fixture.
Bruno Fernandes has established himself as a key player for Manchester United ever since he arrived at the Old Trafford outfit. And, he has retained his status as a regular starter under Erik Ten Hag, who took charge of Manchester United after the end of the 21/22 campaign.
He has appeared in 47 games across all competitions for Manchester United so far this season. And, he has amassed 10 goals and 12 assists in those fixtures.
Bruno Fernandes has also been captaining Manchester United when Harry Maguire does not feature in the playing XI. Maguire remains Manchester United’s club captain but he is no longer a regular starter at the club.
Meanwhile, Manchester United sits fourth in the Premier League points table with 56 points from 29 matches. They are tied on points with third-placed Newcastle United, who have a superior goal difference.
Manchester United are also three points clear of fifth-placed Tottenham Hotspur, who have played a game more than the Red Devils have. Manchester United, meanwhile, trails table-toppers Arsenal by 16 points.
