Xavi Insists Goals Will Come For Robert Lewandowski After Recent Struggles

FC Barcelona manager Xavi Hernandez has insisted that goals will come for Robert Lewandowski after he failed to score in a fourth consecutive fixture for the Catalan outfit.

Barcelona took on Atletico Madrid in La Liga in their most recent fixture and secured a 1-0 win to take them a step closer to the league title. A goal from Ferran Torres in the 44th minute saw Barcelona earn all three points from the fixture.

Robert Lewandowski, who featured throughout the game for Barcelona, however, drew another blank. He has now scored just two goals for Barcelona in his last 10 appearances for the La Liga side. Both the two goals he scored came in Barcelona’s 4-0 win over Elche at the start of April.

Despite his recent struggles, Robert Lewandowski has been largely impressive for Barcelona ever since joining the Catalan outfit in the summer transfer window of 2022.

The Polish international has racked up 27 goals across all competitions for Barcelona so far this season. 17 of those have come in La Liga, where he has scored more goals than anyone else this season.

Meanwhile, Barcelona now have 76 points from 30 games in La Liga so far this season. They enjoy an 11-point lead over second-placed Real Madrid, who are the defending champions.

With eight games to go, Barcelona remains the outright and overwhelming favourites to win the La Liga title this season. If they manage to secure the La Liga title, it will be the second trophy they have won this season.

Barcelona have already won the Spanish Super Cup title this season by defeating Real Madrid in the final earlier this year.

Meanwhile, Barcelona will take on Rayo Vallecano in La Liga in their next fixture. Barcelona will be aiming to earn all three points from the fixture while Robert Lewandowski will also be eying to end his goalless run.
