AC Milan Holds Talks With Representatives of Chelsea Striker Armando Broja

Chelsea striker Armando Broja has been linked with a move to Serie A club AC Milan. The Albania international enjoyed an impressive spell on loan at Southampton last season.

He has played 32 Premier League games during his time at Saint Mary’s Stadium, scoring six goals. However, he has struggled for his game time since returning to Stamford Bridge at the start of the current season.

Broja has managed to start just one Premier League game so far this season. He could look to leave the London outfit during the January transfer window.

The Rossoneri appreciates Broja and are keen to secure his services. Stefano Pioli sees Broja as a long-term replacement for Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who turned 41 earlier this month.

However, the 21-year-old attacker has recently signed a long-term contract with the Blues and is reluctant to move away from the club. It will take a lot of persuasion from Pioli to bring him to the San Siro.

Broja is also delighted to be working under the Blues’ new manager Graham Potter. In an interview earlier this month, he said: “He wants to develop all the players and help out everyone. It’s been really good to have him here, to talk to him. It’s been a really good vibe, and we’re doing really well at the moment, so we just want to keep that going.”

Potter took charge at Stamford Bridge last month. The Blues have made a fine start to life under him, winning five out of seven games since his appointment.

According to Fabrizio Romano, AC Milan are trying to extend the contract of their star striker Rafael Leao. The Portugal international’s current contract at the San Siro expires in 2024.

Several top European clubs have shown interest in signing him, including Chelsea. Leao has been a consistent performer for the Italian outfit since joining from Lille in the summer window of 2019. Leao has played 104 Serie A games for the Rossoneri thus far, registering 27 goals and 23 assists in the process. The Portugal international won the Seria A ‘Most Valuable Player’ accolade last season.
