Barcelona Star Has Informed Xavi Hernandez That He Wants To Leave
The 23-year-old player grew up in Barcelona and went to the famous La Masia academy. But he hasn’t been able to get a spot on Camp Nou’s first team.
Collado spent the second half of last season on loan at Granada, where he made 17 La Liga appearances, scored twice, and set up one goal.
Now that his loan is over, he is back at Camp Nou. But Xavi Hernandez does not have plans for him at Barcelona going forward.
Collado has only played for the Blaugrana’s first team twice so far, once in the 2018–19 season and once in the 2019–20 season.
Since then, the 23-year-old has not played for Barcelona. If he stays with the Catalan giants, he will have a hard time getting on the field.
Collado is said to have signed a contract extension with the club until 2024. But it now seems unlikely that he will stay at Camp Nou past the current transfer window.
Three La Liga teams, Elche, Espanyol, and Real Sociedad, are interested in the 23-year-old. So he could move this summer.
Recent additions to Barcelona’s team have pushed Collado further down the pecking order. It would be best for everyone if he could be sold.
The Blaugrana have signed Raphinha from Leeds United and Robert Lewandowski from Bayern Munich. They have also extended Ousmane Dembele’s contract. Because of this, the futures of a lot of Barcelona’s attackers, are uncertain at the Catalan club.
Memphis Depay’s playing time could drop a lot next season. So he has been linked with a move away from Barcelona in the summer.
Recent reports say that Chelsea is interested in Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who left Arsenal and moved to Barcelona in January. About Collado, the 23-year-old La Masia graduate, it will be interesting to see if he leaves soon.
