Carlo Ancelotti ‘Delighted’ With Dani Ceballos as Midfielder Impresses in Elche Win
Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti said they are delighted with Dani Ceballos after the Spanish midfielder delivered another impressive performance for Los Blancos.
Dani Ceballos, who has been impressive for Real Madrid of late, impressed for the Spanish behemoths as they swept Elche aside. His performance delighted the Santiago Bernabeu crowd, who applauded him during the match.
Speaking after the match, Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti said Dani Ceballos is doing a fantastic job. The Italian tactician also said the applause he received from the Santiago Bernabeu crowd ‘does him the world of good’.
Dani Ceballos has entered the final six months of his Real Madrid contract. The midfielder is due to be out of contract at the end of June 2023.
However, his performances for Real Madrid in recent matches are making a case for him to be rewarded with a new contract at the Spanish club.
Meanwhile, Carlo Ancelotti also spoke about Marco Asensio, who is also due to be out of contract in the summer.
Carlo Ancelotti said he does not yet know whether Marco Asensio will stay at Real Madrid beyond the end of the 22/23 season or not. However, he stressed the Spanish attacker will make the right decision regarding his future with the club.
“He is looking sharp. I don’t yet know if he’s going to stay or not. He has a contract and I’m not overly concerned because we have some very important challenges this season and he is contributing. He will make the right decision together with the club.”
Meanwhile, the win over Elche sees Real Madrid now within eight points of table-toppers FC Barcelona. Barcelona sits atop the La Liga summit with 56 points from 21 matches. Real Madrid now have 48 points from 21 matches.
