Carlo Ancelotti ‘Pleased’ With Real Madrid’s Performance in Win Over Cadiz

Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti said he was pleased with his team’s performance in their 2-0 defeat of Cadiz in La Liga in their most recent fixture.

Real Madrid picked up another three points as goals from Nacho and Marco Asensio, scored in the 72nd and 76th minutes respectively, sealed the win for the defending La Liga champions.

Carlo Ancelotti and Co. continue to sit second in La Liga points table despite the victory. They have 62 points from 29 matches in the Spanish top flight so far this season. Real Madrid trails table-toppers Barcelona by 10 points and have also played a game more than the Catalan outfit have.

Carlo Ancelotti also revealed he has a welcome dilemma for their Champions League quarter-final second leg against Chelsea, given a lot of players played well against Cadiz and he has to choose from them.

These games create more doubts for me for Tuesday because a lot of players have played well. Tchouameni, Asensio, Ceballos, and Karim as always. We have doubts but also the peace of mind of having a lot of options on the bench,” Carlo Ancelotti said.

The Real Madrid manager also said the points that they dropped in La Liga in January have left them at a disadvantage in the race for the league title.

He said: “We could do better in the league, but we suffered a lot in January. We dropped points that give us a disadvantage at the moment.

Carlo Ancelotti also provided a positive update on Vinicius Jr and Toni Kroos, who did not feature for Real Madrid against Cadiz.

He said: “They will play on Tuesday. They couldn’t play today because they both had small issues. They trained separately today but tomorrow they’ll train as normal and be fine for Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Real Madrid brushed aside Chelsea 2-0 in the Champions League quarter-final first leg. They travel to Stamford Bridge for the second leg and they remain the favourites to progress to the semi-finals.
