Chelsea News: Thomas Tuchel Laments Mistakes For Defeat to Leeds United
Chelsea news: Manager Thomas Tuchel has blamed their mistakes for their defeat to Leeds United in the Premier League.
Leeds United doubled their advantage just four minutes later. Jack Harrison’s free-kick from the left was headed home by Rodrigo. The hosts made it 3-0 in the 69th minute through Harrison to inflict a heavy defeat on Chelsea.
The Stamford Bridge out now have four points from their first three fixtures, having won against Everton and shared points against Tottenham Hotspur.
Speaking after the match, Tuchel lamented the mistakes Chelsea made during the game for their defeat to Leeds United.
Tuchel also said Chelsea’s body language was not as it was in the last game, even 10 minutes before Leeds went 2-0 up.
“This has nothing to do with pressing, running fewer kilometers, nothing to do with the style of Leeds. We should not confuse these things.
“We were able to cope with the style, be the better team, be one or two goals ahead, but we give a goal away, and the set piece has nothing to do with anything.
“From there, it’s 2-0, and the belief for Leeds is on the top level, and our body language, even in the ten minutes before, was not what it was like in the last match.”
Chelsea controlled 61% of the possession against Leeds United, but could only make three shots on target. Leeds, meanwhile, had six shots on target, three of which they converted.
Chelsea finished the game with 10 men after Kalidou Koulibaly saw a second yellow and a red card in the 84th minute of the match.
Defeat to Leeds leaves Chelsea in the bottom half of the Premier League table. They sit 12th, with 4 points.
