Diogo Dalot Confirms Man Utd Contract Renewal Talks
Manchester United right-back Diogo Dalot has confirmed that he is in talks with the Old Trafford outfit over a new contract.
Diogo Dalot’s current contract with Manchester United was set to expire at the end of June 2023. But the Red Devils recently triggered a one-year extension option in his contract, which means his current deal with the Old Trafford outfit runs until 2024.
Diogo Dalot has established himself as a regular starter at Manchester United under Erik ten Hag, and the Red Devils hope to reach an agreement with the Portuguese international over a new long-term contract.
“Progressively we are in a good direction as a team, for me, this is the most important part and hopefully individually I can continue to help the team as I am doing.”
Diogo Dalot has featured in 22 matches across all competitions for Manchester United in the 22/23 season. Of those appearances, 14 have come in the Premier League. He has missed only three games for Manchester United in the Premier League this season – one due to suspension and the other two due to injury.
Diogo Dalot has also featured in all six games the Red Devils have so far played in the Europa League 22/23 campaign.
Meanwhile, Manchester United currently sits fourth in the Premier League points table, only behind Arsenal, Manchester City, and Newcastle United. They are nine points behind table-toppers Arsenal and four behind defending champions Manchester City, who sit second.
Manchester United and Newcastle United are tied on points but the latter have the better goal difference. However, Newcastle United have played a game more than Man Utd have in the English top flight in the 22/23 season.
