Erik ten Hag Reacts to Talks of Man Utd Launching Possible EPL Title Charge
Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has labelled talks of the Red Devils launching a possible Premier League title charge ‘ridiculous’ at this stage of the season.
Manchester United now have 38 points from 18 matches in the English top flight so far this season. Manchester City, meanwhile, have 39 points from 18 matches, while Arsenal have earned 44 points from 17 matches.
When asked after Manchester United’s 2-1 win over Man City about the Red Devils launching a possible Premier League title charge, Erik ten Hag insisted such talks are ridiculous at this stage of the season.
Erik ten Hag also stressed that Man Utd have a lot of gaps in our games’ and insisted that they work on those.
Meanwhile, Manchester United defender Luke Shaw also played down such suggestions, insisting it is too early to think about that.
“It’s too early to think about that,” Luke Shaw said. “Right now as a team, we have to make sure we have the right consistency in performances and results.
“It’s always about winning. If you play well or not you need to be winning, and recently we’ve been doing that. We’ve not been playing our best but we’ve still been winning games.”
Manchester United have now won all matches they have played since club football action resumed after the end of the FIFA World Cup 2022. The Old Trafford outfit will be aiming to maintain this rich vein of form going ahead.
They will take on Crystal Palace in an away fixture in the Premier League next week in their next game.
