France National Team Welcomed Wholeheartedly Despite World Cup Final Loss

The French National team received a warm reception from more than one hundred thousand fans. Kylian Mbappe and other french players landed at Charles de Gaulle Airport just around 8 p.m. local time as several fans welcomed and greeted them.

France tried their best to acquire the World Championship, but Argentina beat them in the thrilling penalty shootout with the scoreboard reading 4-2. Even after Kylian Mbappe’s game-turning come back with only the second hat-trick in World Cup final records.

But it was not the fault of Les Bleus. It was Argentinian Goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez’s amazing performance that stopped France from getting their hand around the trophy, blocking their penalty kicks in the shootout.

However, their fans embraced their efforts, and as they arrived at the airport, their supporters gave them a hero’s welcome. Their Air France Jet was surrounded by photographers and journalists from all directions. France coach Didier Deschamps was the first person to step off the plane followed by the team captain Hugo Lloris.

Employees at the airport gave the team a guard of honour as the France team boarded their team bus. The French tricolour flag flew outside the cockpit window, while the team and the staff left the plane. Two attendants of the flight stood holding the tricolour just outside the doors of the plane. Fans gathered at the Place de la Concorde in Paris to greet the players.

France coach Didier Deschamps looked distressed as he climbed into the team bus. However, he praised his team’s efforts and mentioned that he was proud of his squad. On the contrary, he denied talking about himself and his future as the boss of the team.

He went on to explain how the entire team faced all the difficult scenarios till that moment. He felt that it may have had a psychological or physical impact on his players. But the coach adds he was confident with the players who started the game.

Les Bleus only had four days after the latest match they played before the finals. But the coach did not want to use this as an excuse. Deschamps feels they did not play with the same vigour as in the last game. This is what resulted in France not being into the game in the first hour. Deschamps believes Argentina had been a bit lucky before the game.

However, he agrees that La Albiceleste rightfully deserved the World Champion title. The coach was sad for the team staff and players.

Kylian Mbappe departed the plane beside Ousmane Dembele and the team. As Mbappe plays for Paris Saint-Germain, it is unknown when he will return to the team in Ligue 1 action.

Apparently, Didier Deschamps is about to leave his role as the head coach in the following year, with Zinedine Zidane likely to be the next coach. Lloris and Deschamps were seen first at the balcony greeting fans, ultimately joined by the remaining team.

Speculations also say that Hugo Lloris might retire from the sport, handing over the captaincy to the striker Kylian Mbappe.
