Inter Milan CEO Highlights Plan for Chelsea Loanee Romelu Lukaku

Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku is currently plying his trade on loan for Serie A club Inter Milan. The Belgium international struggled with consistency and injuries after re-joining the Blues duing the summer transfer window of 2021.

He played 26 Premier League games during his second spell with Chelsea, scoring eight goals. Lukaku gave a controversial interview in January, criticizing then-manager Thomas Tuchel. The Interview soared his relationship with the German manager and he left Stamford Bridge to join Inter on loan at the start of the current season.

He said: “We know that Romelu loves Inter, he loves the club. We can feel that. He’s motivated to do great things, he’s working to be back in good form as soon as possible.”

He will look to turn the fortunes around when the season resumes after the midseason break next month. The Nerazurri will next lock horns against Napoli at San Siro in the league on January 5.

The Frenchman is in the final year of his contract with the Blues and is keen to sign a preliminary contract with the Blaugrana in January. Xavi sees Kante as a potential replacement for Sergio Busquests, who is likely to leave Camp Nou at the end of the current season.

He helped the Blues win one Premier League title and one UEFA Champions League trophy, among other honours. Kante won the Premier League Player of the Season 2016-17 and was also included in the PFA Premier League Team of the Season twice.
