Liverpool News: Jamie Carragher Predicts a Transfer for Liverpool as the Team Under Jurgen Klopp Continued Its Habit
Liverpool News: According to Jamie Carragher, the Reds are expected to have a midfielder lined up for next summer as a result of their successful transfer business over the past several seasons.
With the signings of Darwin Nunez, Fabio Carvalho, and Calvin Ramsey earlier this summer, the Reds appear content to stick with their plans rather than make any last-minute changes. Jurgen Klopp has made it plain that he is content with his current group and that the team won’t be pressured into making impulsive signings.
However, with important players James Milner (36), Jordan Henderson (32), and Thiago Alcantara (31) all on the wrong side of 30, there will undoubtedly be a need to replace the midfield in the upcoming years. Liverpool was aware of this and made an offer for Aurelien Tchouameni. However, he opted to leave Monaco for Real Madrid this summer in a £60 million deal.
Jude Bellingham of Borussia Dortmund is the centre of attention now that Tchouameni is no longer there. Erling Haaland’s departure to Manchester City made Dortmund unwilling to do a deal this summer. However, according to Carragher, Liverpool will likely make another attempt to get the England international the following year.
Speaking on the Overlap in collaboration with Sky Bet, Carragher said, “Liverpool could still use someone in midfield – not in terms of numbers, in terms of quality. And I believe that Liverpool has a history of waiting for the right people to make transfers under Klopp.
They waited when they couldn’t get [Virgil] van Dijk. Despite the majority of fans telling them to “go get another center-back,” they extended the deadline to January. They don’t freak out, no.
Even though every centre-back suffered an injury at one point of time in the season, they added a few centre-backs in January on loans. They waited rather than buying someone since they couldn’t get [Ibrahima] Konate, who was the person they wanted.
“Liverpool are intelligent. Their starting midfield three are getting on in years now and are all very seasoned.“
However, Liverpool is willing to wait. I believe this is one of the reasons they are so successful in the transfer market. Therefore, I believe they have a plan for next summer.
Although Bellingham is well-known to have admirers. Klopp was quick to defend Liverpool’s recruitment tactics when the 19-year-old was brought up last month. The first issue with that player, he replied, is that he’s not for sale. The main issue with that player, obviously!
