Liverpool Urged to Sign Sofyan Amrabat by Former Player

Former player Glen Johnson has urged Liverpool to sign Fiorentina midfielder Sofyan Ambrabat. The Fiorentina midfielder enjoyed a dream FIFA World Cup 2022 with Morocco.

Sofyan Amrabat played a key role in the Atlas Lions’ historic run to the semi-finals of the competition. He has made six appearances in Qatar so far, registering 2.5 tackles, one interception, and 0.3 key passes per 90. Amrabat also won possession 51 times during the FIFA World Cup 2022.

Former Liverpool player Glen Johnson has urged Jurgen Klopp to sign Fiorentina midfielder Sofyan Amrabat.

Speaking to the media, he said: “He’s looking really good. He breaks the play up really well, he’s comfortable on the ball, but what’s impressed me most is how calm he is.”

“Against Portugal, Morocco was right up against it, and rather than just receiving the ball and booting it away in panic, he was still trying to play. I do believe he could be a good player for Liverpool.”

Sofyan Ambrabat joined Fiorentina from Hellas Verona in the January window of 2020. He has played 78 games(in all competitions) so far, scoring one goal. The Morocco international was named Best African Player in Serie A by Gazzetta Dello Sport in 2020.

Apart from the Reds, Tottenham Hotspur are another Premier League club who have shown interest in signing him in recent days. The Spurs manager Antonio Conte is a huge admirer of the Moroccon international and is keen to add him to his squad.

Liverpool are scheduled to play against Manchester City in the EFL Cup round-of-16 tie on December 23. The Merseyside outfit will kickstart their Premier League campaign after the FIFA World Cup break against Aston Villa at Villa Park on December 26.
