Luis Campos Reveals PSG in Discussions to Extend Lionel Messi’s Contract
Luis Campos: Paris Saint-Germain’s football advisor Luis Campos has revealed they are in discussions to extend Lionel Messi’s contract with the French club beyond the end of the 22/23 season.
Lionel Messi joined Paris Saint-Germain on a free transfer in the summer of 2021 after his contract with Barcelona had expired. After enduring a rather underwhelming 21/22 season at PSG, Messi has looked back to his best in the current campaign.
Lionel Messi has been sensational for Paris Saint-Germain in the ongoing 22/23 season. The Argentine icon has registered 15 goals and 14 assists across all competitions for the French side in the current campaign.
He revealed they are in discussions to extend Lionel Messi’s contract and that their objective is keep the Argentine at the club.
Luis Campos was also full of praise for Neymar Jr, another of PSG’s superstars. “The truth is that since my arrival at PSG, I have absolutely no criticism to make of Neymar. He is always on time and always has a good disposition. This Neymar is an incredible Neymar,” Luis Campos said.
PSG sits atop the Ligue 1 points table with 54 points from 22 matches. They have an eight-point lead at the top over second-placed Marseille, who have 46 points from 21 matches.
