Man City Transfer News: The defending Premier League champions have dismissed reports they have accepted a bid from FC Barcelona for Bernardo Silva.
Silva has been linked with a move away from Man City, and Barcelona are interested in the Portuguese international.
Silva enjoyed an impressive spell at Man City last season. The 28-year-old was a regular starter in the Man City lineup last season, featuring in 50 games. The Portuguese international also scored 13 goals and provided seven assists last season.
He has been at Man City since 2017 when they signed him on a five-year contract from Ligue 1 side AS Monaco. Silva has since featured prominently for Man City, and have racked up 253 appearances for the Manchester-outfit. He has also scored 48 goals for the Cityzens.
Silva has generally been impressive for Man City, and has a contract with the club that runs until 2025.
Man City have signed Erling Haaland in one of the most high-profile signings of the summer. The Norwegian international has joined the Premier League side on a five-year contract from Borussia Dortmund. He made his Premier League debut earlier this month when Man City faced West Ham in their league opener. He made the perfect start as he bagged a brace as Man City defeated West Ham 2-0.
Man City have also acquired the services of midfielder Kalvin Phillips from Leeds United. The England international has signed a six-year contract with Man City. He also made his Premier League debut against West Ham, coming on as a late substitute in the 89th minute for Rodri. City also signed goalkeeper Stefan Ortega on a free transfer.
Meanwhile, they have also seen departures of the likes of Raheem Sterling, Gabriel Jesus and Oleksandr Zinchenko. All the aforementioned three have left for Premier League rivals, with Sterling joining Chelsea. Jesus and Zinchenko have signed for Arsenal.
