Manchester United News: Erik ten Hag Confident He Can Restore Glory Days
Manchester United news: Manager Erik ten Hag is convinced he will be able to restore glory days to the Old Trafford-outfit.
Ten Hag has joined Man Utd after an impressive spell at Ajax. During his time at Ajax, Ten Hag guided the Dutch club to three league titles. Ten Hag managed Ajax for 215 matches and had an impressive 73.5% win ratio.
Ten Hag has an enormous task at hand at Man Utd, with the Red Devils well behind their glory days. Man Utd could only manage a sixth-place finish last season, and has missed out on qualification for this season’s Champions League as a result. The Red Devils’ Champions League campaign last season ended with a round-of-16 defeat to Atletico Madrid.
Erik ten Hag has already managed Man Utd in one competitive game. However, in Ten Hag’s first competitive match as Man Utd manager, the Red Devils succumbed to a defeat. They were defeated 2-1 by Brighton & Hove Albion in their Premier League 2022/23 season opener.
Ten Hag, though, is confident he can bring back the glory days of Man Utd. The Dutch tactician said he has delivered results in his previous managerial stints and is confident he can replicate the same at Man Utd.
Ten Hag, however, admitted the process will take time.
The 52-year-old added: “I cannot ask the fans to be patient – I hope they will be – because they want to see a winning team and that is why I am here, but I have to produce it.
“But the process takes time, it is what it is.”
Man Utd will be hoping to collect their first points of the season when they face Thomas Frank’s side.
Brentford comes into the match against Man Utd with one point, having drawn Leicester City in their opening fixture.
