Manchester United Transfer News: Opening Bid for Marko Turned Down

Manchester United Transfer News: Marko Arnautovic, the Australian forward began his career playing for the native clubs in the Vienna area before he signed for the Dutch club Twente in 2006.

The player later joined Inter Milan on loan but could, unfortunately, make only 3 appearances for the Italian giants due to injury.

The 2018 Australian player of the year has made 100 appearances for his national team, helping them to qualify for UEFA European Championship in 2016 and 2018.

Manchester United’s manager wants to sign the 33-year-old forward and bring him to Old Trafford. Erin ten Hag knows the forward from his time at FC Twente between 2006 and 2009.

Arnautovic signed came to Bologna in 2021 on a two-year deal. The player debuted with a goal in the 56th minute which ended in a 5-4 defeat for the Series A side, Bologna.

“It’s true that there’s a bid from a well-known club…” said Danijel when asked about the bid from Manchester United for his brother. He further added that he is in talks with Bologna to realize the deal’s potential.

However, Bologna has reportedly rejected the offer from United as they want them to keep his hands off their forward.

Manchester United made an opening bid of 8/9 million pounds for the 33-year-old forward after the manager showed interest in signing the Australian forward.

Marko Arnautovic plays a key role in Bologna’s attack and the club is not quite ready to send the attacker off so soon.

The reports suggest that the Series A side is currently resisting pressure from Manchester United, who wants to take the deal forward and sign Arnautovic.

United manager has seen the player in his best form at FC Twente while he was working his way as a assistant manager for the Eredivisie side.

United manager has already expressed publicly that he needs a new attacker in the current window.

However, signing Arnautovic is not looking easy for the premier league side. Manchester United will have to come up with an improved offer if they want a chance to sign the Australian forward.

It is yet to see whether the Red Devils will submit a new offer to convince Bologna or move to other targets.
