Pep Guardiola Says Manchester City Suffered Due to His Tactics in First-Half vs Arsenal

Pep Guardiola said Manchester City suffered in the first half of their Premier League clash with Arsenal due to his tactics.

Manchester City got the better of Arsenal in their most recent fixture in the Premier League as the defending champions inflicted a 3-1 defeat on the Gunners at the Emirates Stadium.

Manchester City, however, scored two goals in the second half to seal the victory. Jack Grealish made it 2-1 for Manchester City in the 72nd minute of the match before Erling Haaland sent the defending Premier League champions two goals up in the 82nd minute.

Against Arsenal, Bernardo Silva played as a left-back in the first half of the match. It was a tactic that did not work out the way Pep Guardiola had hoped, and the Portuguese international received a yellow card for a foul on Bukayo Saka.

Pep Guardiola changed tactics in the second-half as Bernardo Silva switched flanks and played higher up the pitch.

When asked what frustrated him in the first half of their match against Arsenal, Pep Guardiola said it was his tactics.

Meanwhile, the win over Arsenal has taken Manchester City to the top of the Premier League points table. Manchester City now have 51 points, the same as Arsenal, but Pep Guardiola and co. have a better goal difference. However, Manchester City have played 23 matches, while Arsenal have only played 22.
