PSG Gave Kylian Mbappe All Power Even They Had Lionel Messi Next to Him, Says Angel di Maria
Angel di Maria says Paris Saint-Germain gave Kylian Mbappe all the power even when they had Lionel Messi next to him in the team.
Angel di Maria joined Juventus in the 2022 summer transfer window on a free transfer window after his contract with Paris Saint-Germain had expired. Prior to his move to the Italian side, the Argentine attacker spent seven seasons at PSG.
Kylian Mbappe was at PSG for five of those seasons while Lionel Messi joined the French side on a free transfer in the summer of 2021. Angel di Maria played alongside Messi and Mbappe among others in his final season at Paris Saint-Germain.
Angel di Maria believes PSG gave Kylian Mbappe all the power and strength because was French. However, the Argentine attacker also stressed that when was at PSG, Mbappe was a good boy and believes nothing has changed so much since.
“But there’s a big difference, they gave him all that power with the best in history [Messi] next to him.
“I think they gave him all that power and strength because he’s French, he was born there, won a World Cup, and has an extraordinary career ahead of him. But all that aside, when I was at PSG he was a good boy and I don’t think he’s changed so much.”
Meanwhile, Kylian Mbappe has been sensational for Paris Saint-Germain in the ongoing 22/23 season. The Frenchman has 27 games across all competitions for PSG so far this season. He has racked up 25 goals and six assists in those matches.
