PSG Transfer News: Christophe Galtier Confirms Leandro Paredes Has Offers
PSG transfer news: Paris Saint-Germain head coach Christophe Galtier has confirmed midfielder Leandro Paredes has offers from elsewhere.
The Old Lady are in the transfer market in search of reinforcements after Paul Pogba, who they signed on a free transfer this summer, picked up an injury. They could also be without Adrien Rabiot, who could be on the move, this season.
Manchester United have registered interest in Rabiot as the Red Devils look to bolster their midfield department. The Old Trafford outfit have reportedly agreed on an initial transfer fee with Juventus. However, personal terms have yet not been agreed with Rabiot.
Speaking after PSG’s second Ligue 1 match of the season, Galtier spoke about Paredes’ future at the club. The PSG head coach revealed Paredes has ‘many offers’. He also admitted he is uncertain what will happen between now and the end of the 2022 summer transfer window.
Paredes has failed to make it to the PSG starting XI in the three competitive matches they have played so far this season. PSG kicked off their campaign with a 4-0 win over Nantes in the Trophée des Champions. They then began their Ligue 1 season with a thumping 5-0 win over Clermont Foot.
PSG followed that up with a 5-2 win over Montpellier. Despite not making it to the starting XI, Paredes featured in all three games, coming off the bench.
The 28-year-old Argentine midfielder has been playing for PSG ever since the Parisians signed him in January 2019. He joined PSG from Zenit Saint Petersburg on a four-and-a-half-year contract.
Paredes has since played 116 matches for PSG and has scored three goals. He made 22 appearances for PSG last season, scoring one goal.
He has won the Ligue 1 title thrice, Coupe de France and the Trophée des Champions twice each, and Coupe de la Ligue once with PSG.
Meanwhile, Paredes’ current contract with PSG runs until 2024, meaning he has two years left on his current deal with the French club.
