Roy Keane Admits Cristiano Ronaldo’s Exit Has Helped Manchester United
Roy Keane has admitted that Cristiano Ronaldo’s exit from Manchester United has helped the Old Trafford-outfit. Ronaldo and Manchester United parted ways by mutual consent in November last year.
The decision to terminate Cristiano Ronaldo’s contract with Manchester United by mutual agreement came after the Portuguese superstar had sat down for an explosive interview with Piers Morgan.
Cristiano Ronaldo had also struggled to deliver the goods in the 22/23 season before leaving Manchester United. The 37-year-old managed to register only three goals and two assists for Manchester United in 16 appearances across Premier League and Europa League in the 22/23 season.
Manchester United have largely been impressive since Cristiano Ronaldo’s exit was confirmed. In the 12 matches they have since played, Manchester United have won 10 matches, drawn one, and lost one.
Roy Keane also believes the departure of a number of players in the summer transfer window of 2022 was also important for Manchester United. He also believes a feel-good factor is back at the club.
Manchester United currently sits fourth in the Premier League points table. The Red Devils have 39 points from 20 matches. They trail table-toppers Arsenal, who have 50 points from 19 matches, by 11 points.
Meanwhile, Cristiano Ronaldo has signed joined Saudi Arabian side Al-Nassr on a two-and-a-half-year contract that makes him the highest-paid footballer in the world.
Ronaldo has already made his debut for Al-Nassr but he is yet to open his account for the Saudi Arabian side despite featuring in two matches.
