Thiago Silva Agrees to Extend His Chelsea Contract

Thiago Silva has agreed to extend his contract with Chelsea beyond the end of the ongoing 22/23 season, according to a report in 90min.

Thiago Silva has entered the final six months of his contract with Chelsea. His current deal with the Stamford Bridge outfit is due to expire at the end of the season.

Thiago Silva is reportedly ready to extend his Chelsea contract by another year, until the end of the 23/24 campaign.

The 38-year-old has been a regular starter for Chelsea and has featured in 23 games across the Champions League and Premier League for the west London outfit this season.

He joined Chelsea on a free transfer in the summer of 2020 after his contract with Paris Saint-Germain had expired. He has since appeared in 105 games across all competitions for the Premier League club.

Meanwhile, Chelsea, who have been very active in the January transfer window, will be hoping to turn things around and improve their form. They currently languish at 10th in the Premier League points table, 21 points adrift of table-toppers Arsenal.

Chelsea has 29 points from 20 matches, while Arsenal, who sit atop the table, have 50 points from 19 matches. In the race for the top four, Chelsea trail fourth-placed Manchester United by 10 points. The Red Devils have 39 points from 20 matches in the English top flight so far this season.
