Tottenham Hotspur: Fabio Paratici Is Keen to Sign the Leicester Star Player
Leicester received two huge offers from Newcastle in the summer which were worth £40 million and later £45 million. But manager Brandon Rodgers was not ready to let go of another star player of his squad after the sale of Wesley Fofana. As Rodgers told on selling Maddison that the price “might just cover three-quarters of his left leg”.
After selling Eriksen to Inter back in 2020, Daniel Levy struggled to replace the Danish midfielder. Lo Celso came as his replacement, but Premier League football does not suit him.
Upon the British midfielder’s link to Spurs, Barclay spoke: “With Conte, he loves experienced players who can take his team to the next level and Maddison’s the kind of player that they’re lacking. That bit of creativity.”
He said: “He is a good player on a bad side in terms of the way Leicester are playing at this moment in time… I think James Maddison has all the talent to go up a level and go into a big-six club and perform at that level.”
Both Tillemans and Maddison have attracted the interest of many English clubs. Leicester is struggling in the league, as they are at bottom of the League table. Though Leicester is struggling, Maddison has three goals and an assist this season.
He also recorded 12 strikes and eight assists for his team and helped the Foxes to finish 8th position in the league table last season. Antonio Conte will love to add a player of such calibre.
