“We Look to the Future”: Erik ten Hag Reacts to Cristiano Ronaldo Question
Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag refused to comment once again on Cristiano Ronaldo’s exit from the Old Trafford outfit.
Manchester United and Cristiano Ronaldo parted ways in November this year, with the Red Devils terminating the Portuguese superstar’s contract by mutual consent. The decision came following Cristiano Ronaldo’s explosive interview with Piers Morgan.
Manchester United took on Burnley in EFL Cup round-of-16 in their first competitive match since the winter break and Cristiano Ronaldo’s much-talked-about exit from the club. The Red Devils emerged victorious, inflicting a 2-0 defeat on Burnley.
Speaking after the match, Erik ten Hag was asked about Cristiano Ronaldo’s exit from Manchester United. The Manchester United manager refused to comment on it once more, insisting he has already spoken on the issue and that the club made a statement, and that they are now looking to the future.
Meanwhile, it was Christian Eriksen and Marcus Rashford who scored the goals as Man Utd breezed past Burnley in their first competitive match post the winter break.
Christian Eriksen opened the scoring against Burnley, scoring from close range after receiving an excellent cross from Aaron Wan-Bissaka, who made his first start of the season.
Marcus Rashford then made it 2-0 for Manchester United in the second half with a sensational solo goal. The Red Devils then saw off the game to progress to the next stage of the competition.
Meanwhile, Cristiano Ronaldo is currently a free agent and without a club after his exit from Manchester United. The Portuguese superstar has been linked with a number of clubs, including Saudi Arabian side Al-Nassr. However, he has not yet signed a contract with any other club.
