‘I’ve told them what I wanted’-Bernardo Silva Has Revealed About His Move To Barcelona
Recent news stories said that Manchester City and Barcelona had reached an agreement for the transfer of the Portuguese playmaker for €60 million. But since then, the Premier League champions have denied those claims and are asking for more money for Silva.
The 28-year-old has been with Manchester City since 2017 when he moved there from AS Monaco. He still has three years left on his contract with the English powerhouse.
But the Portugal international hasn’t ruled out leaving Manchester City this summer because Barcelona is interested. He did say that he has a good relationship with the club, though.
Trust me, we’ll see. I have a very honest relationship with the club. I’ve told them what I wanted, so they know.
If I stay, I’ll be very happy, and I’ll always treat this club with respect and do my best for it. If not, well, it’s football, so we’ll just have to wait and see.”
Raheem Sterling, Gabriel Jesus, and Oleksandr Zinchenko have already left Manchester City this summer. But they want to keep Bernardo Silva. But if the Portuguese playmaker wants to join Barcelona, they won’t make him stay.
Silva continued, “It’s a big club, and they don’t want players who aren’t happy there. They always tell us that if we’re not happy, we can leave.
They are a business, so they want to make sure they get the right amount of money for letting us go. But I have a good relationship with the club.
They have always told me the truth, and I have always told them the truth. As I said, I will always respect my relationship with Man City, the fans, the staff, and my teammates.
So, whatever happens, will happen, and it will happen in a very respectful way.”
This summer, it will be interesting to see if Barcelona is able to sign their top transfer target. Silva hasn’t said much about his future at Manchester City, even though there has been a lot of talk about it.
