PSG Transfer News: Club Ready to Pay €70m For Bernardo Silva
PSG transfer news: The defending Ligue 1 champions are reportedly preparing a move for Manchester City attacker Bernardo Silva.
Silva has also attracted transfer interest from FC Barcleona, who had also tried to sign him last summer.
The Portuguese international has refused to rule out an exit from Man City this summer, but has also said he is happy at the Premier League champions.
The report adds that PSG is prepared to pay as much as €70m to acquire the services of Silva.
However, Man City does not want to lose Silva with just two weeks remaining in the summer transfer window. The Athletic has earlier reported that City will not budge on their valuation of Silva. The Portuguese star was valued at €100m at the start of the summer.
Silva has been an important player for Man City since they signed him from AS Monaco in 2017. He has since featured regularly for the Premier League champions, amassing 254 appearances for the club. He has also scored 48 goals for the Manchester outfit.
Silva made 50 appearances for Man City last season and scored 13 goals as Pep Guardiola’s side won the Premier League title.
He has also made three appearances for Man City this season. He started for Man City in their 3-1 defeat to Liverpool in the FA Community Shield final and played the entirety of the match.
Silva came off the bench in both of Man City’s Premier League games so far this season. He featured in the second half in their wins over West Ham and Bournemouth.
Silva last renewed his contract at Man City in 2019, when he signed a six-year deal with the English side. He has three years left on his current contract with Man City.
