How Can Manchester City Lineup Against Leicester City?

Pep Guardiola’s team have won eight out of the first eleven matches. They have gathered twenty-six points from these eleven matches and are in the second position in the table.

They will now face Leicester City in their next match at the King Power Stadium. Leicester are currently struggling at the seventeenth position in the table. They desperately need points to stay in the division. But Guardiola’s team will surely not make it easy for them.

So before the match let’s take a look at how Manchester City can line up against Leicester City.

Pep Guardiola will use his typical 4-3-3 formation against the Foxes. Brazilian goalkeeper Ederson is set to start in the goal. Ederson was rested in City’s last match against Dortmund. In his absence, Ortega had a great outing but it is unlikely the German to keep his place.

Portuguese defender Ruben Dias and Dutch centre-back Nathan Ake will play at the heart of the defense. Both Laporte and Stones have returned from injury recently and it is unlikely that Guardiola will start them.

Swiss international Manuel Akanji will have to play a makeshift right-back. The defender has so far done well in his new position. This will allow Joao Cancelo to play his preferred inverted left-back role.

Rodri will once again get the start at the defensive midfield position. Kevin De Bruyne and Bernardo Silva will complete City’s three-man midfield. De Bruyne was rested in Manchester City’s last match against Dortmund and will be in action again.

English international Jack Grealish will start in the left win. Grealish played only a few minutes in the last match against the German club and will be eager to continue his good form. He will be accompanied by Phil Foden. Foden has got a brilliant start to the season. The English youngster has already netted six goals in the league. He will be looking to add more against Leicester.

Meanwhile, Guardiola will have to take a big decision on the striker position. Erling Haaland suffered a minor foot injury in the last match. The Norwegian is not completely fit. And we might just see Argentine forward Julian Alvarez leading the lines against Leicester.

Goalkeeper: Ederson

Defenders: Akanji, Dias, Ake, Cancelo

Midfielders: De Bruyne, Rodri, Bernardo

Forward: Foden, Alvarez, Grealish
