Carlo Ancelotti Confirms Real Madrid Will Not Make Any Signing Before January Transfer Window Closes
Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti has confirmed that they will not make any signings in the January transfer window.
The 2023 January transfer window has entered its final 48 hours, and Real Madrid have not made any signings so far this month. Speaking to reporters, Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti confirmed they will not be making any signings in the 2023 January transfer window.
Real Madrid now trails FC Barcelona by five points in the La Liga points table after Los Blancos failed to win the game against Real Sociedad in the Spanish top-flight.
Barcelona had moved six points clear of Real Madrid in the La Liga points table with their win over Girona. Real Madrid had the opportunity to revert the gap between Barcelona to three points when they faced Real Sociedad.
However, Real Madrid could only manage a draw as the two teams played out a goalless game. The result means Real Madrid now have 42 points from 18 matches in La Liga so far in the 22/23 season. Barcelona, meanwhile, have 47 points from 18 matches.
Speaking after Real Madrid’s 0-0 draw with Real Sociedad, Carlo Ancelotti said they are confident about the coming months.
“If we get a win on Thursday, we will have picked up more points than we did [this time] last year. Barcelona are doing very well, but it’s a long season,” Carlo Ancelotti said.
“It’s been a tough January, but the team has improved a lot in all areas: in attack, defense, the physical side. The team is improving and we’ve got some injured players coming back this week. We’re confident about the coming months.”
Meanwhile, Real Madrid will face Valencia in La Liga in their next game. The match between Real Madrid and Valencia kicks off at 1:30 am Indian Standard Time on February 3.
